Kostadinova: I am pleased with our performance in Turin

"The very fact that we kept the tradition, winning a gold medal at a third winter Olympics in a row, tells enough about our performance in Turin. I personally am satisfied with what we did at the Fourteenth Winter Olympics," said Stefka Kostadinova, President of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee (BOC).
"Of course, as an athlete, I have always pursued the maximum. In this line of thought, I could say we might have won more medals. However, Evgenia Radanova had terrible luck in the 1,000 meters short track speed skating; the same thing is true for Ekaterina Dafovska in biathlon. Bulgaria's ice dance couple Albena Denkova and Maxim Stavisky were hacked by the judges," she went on.
In addition to Radanova's gold medal, the Bulgarian Olympic heroes also cut a figure with the unique outfits, made by leading Bulgarian sportswear-maker, Diel.
Fashion experts said Bulgaria's delegation was one of the most stylish ones at the opening ceremony.
Because of the high-quality materials and relatively low price of the Diel sportswear, teams from Scandinavia and the Baltic Republics already want to order from the company their outfits for the Vancouver' 2010 Olympics.
Fans readily offered the Bulgarian athletes a lot of money for an item of their outfit.
Milan's Mayor Gabriele Albertini also praised the Bulgarian sportswear-maker.
